Monday 11/17/08

Daddy hasn't been feeling very good since last Friday. He stayed in all weekend and had a hard weekend breathing and his feet swelled really bad. He said he just didn't have enough breath to walk from the living room to kitchen. Trish and I decided first thing Monday we would call Dr. Blue to see if we could get an appointment. He wasn't in but Trish called Dr. Fincher and he could see him so Trish took him to Searcy. He said he was filled up with fluid, didn't know why, but thought he needed to be hospitalized. Daddy agreed so you know he was not feeling good at all. I talked with him about 7:00 and he said he was going to the bathroom a lot but did feel some better and was breathing better. Send prayers his way family and friends, he sure does want to see some of the football playoffs coming up. :-)

Tuesday 11/11/08

We have had a lot of sadness since my last posting. I will keep it short. Daddy had a really hard week. It started last week when Dixie Swindle passed away, then his cousin Catherine Cockrine that had been sick for some time was taken off all life support and she passed away shortly after that. Then we got a call that Susan's mom, Nannie Duncan, had died. All within 3 days. So, in two days Daddy had been to 3 funerals, and 4 visitations. By Sunday he was exhausted. But, then Monday he decided to have fried pies made for the guys at deer camp and he took it down to them and spent the night. He was coming home today, but got a call a while ago and he decided to stay another night.. He just keeps on going..

I left for work yesterday morning and had been at work for about 15 minutes and Daddy calls. His truck wouldn't start. So I called the garage and sent them to the house to get his truck started, he was on his way to deer camp, he was really upset, afraid he wasn't going to get to go!! :-) He is going to take his truck to Little Rock tomorrow to get it checked, it had to be jumped off again today.

Art bought Justine a basketball goal a little early birthday prize!! He said he has had lots of kids at the house playing basketball. Soccer is over so I guess we are going to start basketball!!

Sister came over yesterday to have her nails done and met me after work and we had dinner. Neither of us was feeling very good, but visited awhile and enjoyed seeing each other.

On the brighter side of things, Hayden killed his first deer!! I will try and get the picture posted. He and Teddy were really excited!!

Wally's had is still doing good, of course he isn't wearing his brace at night like he was suppose to so his finger will probably bend back down again!! Stubborn is his middle name. He has been really busy leaf blowing around the house, an everyday job this time of year.

Thanks to Russell and Sutton for coming and getting Daddy's wheelchair and taking it to LR. We have decided that Daddy had a little accident with it, but just didn't know what happened to it!! :-)

Monday 11/3/08

Just sitting here watching Monday night football, I really don't care who wins, my teams aren't playing tonight. I like the Manning brothers, they are my favorite, except for Dallas of course. Art has always been a Cowboy fan since he was just a little guy!! Long time ago. But I still have to root for them. Latest on Justine and her soccer, she made all the goals in the last game and Art sent video, she said she got a trophy and that she would be playing with the older kids next year. I'm afraid she will still be the tallest one in that group too!! That's ok, Art is afraid she is going to be a monster chick!! We will love her anyway, monster or not!!

Daddy just called to tell me that I could lock the door, he was spending the night at deer camp in dark corner. He got shots in his knee and back today so he is good to go for another couple of weeks. He was so excited this morning because he was going to get BBQ to take to camp for the boys and also fried pies. He really loves spending time with those guys, they are really great. One little funny as I was helping him get his bag packed again, he had put his dirty pj's in the bag, I took them out and he asked what I was doing, I told him that I was putting clean ones in, he said "S--- Becky Lynn when do you think I'm going, to the world series or something, I'm just going to Dark Corner!!!" I had to laugh, he was dead serious!! Like when he was getting ready to go to a visitation Sunday night I made him stop before leaving out the back door and I buttoned his collar down on his shirt, "he said his favorite word, then told me that he had just spent 10 minutes on trying to get them unbuttoned!! :-) Oh Lord, please help whoever has to take care of me when the time comes!! I hope they can find some humor out of some of the things I do!!!
Wally is doing pretty good, his hand hasn't hurt much but it is still wrapped, he goes back to doctor tomorrow and they will take bandage off, they also have him down for therapy too, he doesn't like that idea, he also has an appointment with heart doctor too for check up!! Hope everything is ok.
Scooter is doing great. Have I told you that he is just the sweetest little puppy dog in the whole world, don't know what I did without him. He loves everyone and he really loves Daddy, he sneaks him bologna!! :-)

Saturday 11/1/08

Hey, I am so excited, after a week of working on my new computer I finally now have internet and I'm wireless!! WOW!! I have talked to every computer guru from At&t this week. I either kept getting a person that I couldn't understand OR that didn't understand me. Can't understand that though!!! I talk really slow and have no accent at all! and I'm very computer literate!! :-) Anyway, this was my special day and lucky day!! Pawpaw will be so excited, because most of you know that he hates the PUTER. Now I can take the old crashed computer completely out of his room. He would always call me and tell me that I had left the PUTER on again, the lights bothered him!!! Sure!!
Although, I'm not sure I will get to use it as often as I want to just now, it seems it bothers Wally that I'm actually not watching the ballgame - Scooter thinks I'm on the phone I guess, he keeps barking at me - and Daddy just shakes his head when he sees me on it!!! I'm sure they will get use to it.
Pawpaw just called to tell me to leave door unlocked, he was coming home tonight - sometimes - he had ended up at the deer camp and he was going to eat and watch ballgame and play cards, but he would be home tonight!! I guess he has had a really good couple of days, he sounded like he was still going pretty strong. Glad he decided to get out and go somewhere, was beginning to worry about him.
